于1月26日举行的2023年英国化学测评（UKChO）成绩近日新鲜出炉。在这个“三高”（高难度、高含金量、高认可度）化学测评中，来自华茂IBDP项目的4名11年级学子首次参赛就从全国390所学校2000多名学生中脱颖而出，斩获2全球银奖和2全球铜奖的优异成绩！其中，江泽宇和张书豪同学斩获全球银奖，潘妍和尹涵畅荣获全球铜奖，恭喜四位同学！

The results of 2023 UK Chemistry Olympiad (UKChO) held on January 26th have been freshly released. Our four IBDP students stood out among more than two thousand students from 390 schools all over China in their first participation. Among our winners, Jack Jiang and Peter Zhang both won Global Silver Award, while Pennie Pan and Chase Yin both won Global Bronze Award! Congratulations!

在这次UKChO化学测评备赛过程中，申菲菲老师作为指导教师，给参赛同学们进行了一周四次长达数月认真而耐心的辅导。同学们也充分发挥了勇于挑战，积极探索的求知精神，通过知识点梳理串讲和历年真题训练，他们提高了学科思维，进一步精进了学术水平。傲人的成绩需要学子们持之以恒的不懈努力，更离不开申老师园丁般的辛勤浇灌和培育。在此，向所有获奖的同学及申菲菲老师表示最衷心的祝贺！

During the preparation for this competition, Amelia Shen, as the tutor, gave the students four times a week serious and patient coaching for several months. The students gave full play to develop the spirit of active exploration and challenge. By sorting out knowledge points and training on past questions, they have improved disciplinary thinking and further improved their academic level. The outstanding achievement requires the unremitting efforts of the students, but also the hard work of teacher Amelia. Once again, CONGRATULATIONS to all award winners and teacher Amelia Shen!

很荣幸能够在此次UKCHO中获得银奖的好成绩。获得这个成绩于我而言是个惊喜。肯定需要感谢的是申菲菲老师的辛勤付出，老师在课外准备的竞赛辅导是我得奖的基础。同时也感谢陪伴我一起学习的同学们，他们对我的学习道路也有着很大的帮助。这次的成绩对我来说是一种鞭策，以激励我在以后的竞赛中更加努力。希望能在下次竞赛中取得更好的成绩。

I am honored winning the silver medal in UKChO. It was a surprise for me to get this result. I definitely need to thank my chemistry teacher Ms. Amelia for her hard work. The competition tutoring prepared by the teacher outside of class is the foundation for me to win the award. I also appreciate the classmates who accompanied me in my studies, as they have been very helpful to my learning path. I hope to achieve better results in the next competition.

First, I'm very happy that I can get the silver award in the UKCHO contest. Thanks a lot to my chemistry teacher Ms. Amelia and my classmates. Silver award is still far from success. With the experiences I got from the competition, I believe I can do a better job next time.

作为英国最高学术难度的化学竞赛，题目大多取材于生活中真实的问题，通过使用化学知识解决一个个生动有趣的化学问题。内容涉及有机化学、物理化学、无机化学、生物化学、分析化学和光谱学，难度较大。但他们的领会力很强，接收新知识比较快，这一过程可以更好帮助他们建构化学知识体系，提升情境分析能力，强化学科关联素养，培养高阶思维能力，为他们以后的学术性学习做准备。

As the most difficult Chemistry Competition in the UK, the UKChO competition topics are based on real chemical problems in life, through the process of solving vivid and interesting chemical problems by using chemical knowledge. It involves organic chemistry, physical chemistry, inorganic chemistry, biochemistry, analytical chemistry and spectroscopy, which are not easy. But their ability to comprehend is strong and they can absorb new knowledge faster. This process can better help students construct chemical knowledge systems, improve situational analysis capabilities, hone perseverance, strengthen subject-related literacy, and cultivate higher-order thinking skills. Prepare the students for a good future academic study.
